Princess Yachts

Princess Yachts Ltd. in Plymouth was founded in 1965 as Marine Projects (Plymouth). The goal was to build a boat for rental; this became the Project 31. This one could soon be sold, and soon the orders for more boats came in, so the idea for series building and selling boats was born.
  • This was followed by the Princess 25, which we still see in many marinas.
  • Launched in 1982, the Pricess 45 was the largest motor yacht in the UK at the time. Due to many demands, production had to be increased from 12 to 36 boats per year after 4 months.
  • 1983 saw the launch of the first Princess Sport Boat, the Princess 286 Riviera. It was developed specifically for the French market, so a minimum of 3 per month were sold from the beginning.
  • The first V Class Sport Yachts were developed in 1994. The V39 and V52 are famous for good sailing characteristics and seaworthiness.
  • Anno 2011, there is approximately 35,000 m2 of factory space available, with more than 2,000 full time employees and a large dealer network around the world.
