The Limburgia is a familiar sight in the port of Rotterdam, and many a skipper or tugboat captain will certainly (re)know the boat. The boat has been owned by the family since 1963 and always used professionally and maintained as such. Originally the boat was designed for a Deutz, but the war years, threw a spanner in the works, and the boat was equipped with a steam engine after all. Only when the vessel came into the family’s possession was it immediately fitted with a Bronze, taken from a sunken coaster, and after 70 years of faithful service is still doing its job. In theory, the boat could still be fine used in commercial navigation, all the papers are there and the technology works and has been maintained. However, we also see a monumental value and so the boat can also be used recreationally or for habitation. With possibly fitting a smaller engine, a piece of the engine room could also be made habitable. The asking price is an indication. If there is serious interest, we are happy to meet with prospective buyers to discuss options.
