The Limburgia is a familiar sight in the port of Rotterdam, and many a skipper or tug captain will certainly (re)know the boat. The boat has been owned by the family since 1963 and has always been used professionally. Originally the boat was designed for a Deutz, but during the war years the boat was equipped with a steam engine. It was only when the boat came into the family's possession that it was immediately fitted with a Bronze, from a sunken coaster, and after 70 years of faithful service it still does its job.

In theory, the boat can still be used in commercial shipping, all the papers are there and the technique works and has been kept up to date. However, we also see a monumental value and therefore the boat can also be used recreationally or for habitation. With possibly a smaller engine to place, also a piece of engine room could be made habitable.
