Brief description:
Tukkervlet 1470 "Desio" – built in 1988
In 1988, Botenbouw Tukker—which has traditionally specialized in commercial vessels and the well-known Tukker rowboats—built this Tukkervlet 1470 on commission from a private couple involved in Rhine shipping. The result is a robust and well-designed vessel, with a hull made of 6 mm steel and a superstructure of 5 and 4 mm steel. The gunwales are fitted with a D-shaped rubber profile.
The large, double-glazed windows in the wheelhouse provide plenty of light and a clear view to the rear, making an outside steering position unnecessary. Combined with the central diesel heater, generator, and heavy-duty inverter, the Desio is comfortable to use year-round. The sturdy hull is not susceptible to wind, and the powerful DAF engine and bow thruster make it highly maneuverable.
The split, hinged rear door provides access to the spacious cockpit. A 50-centimeter step leads to the gangways, which are also 50 centimeters wide and are safe and comfortable to walk on thanks to the 80-centimeter-high railing and the cabin wall that slopes slightly inward.
The boat is well-maintained and well-equipped: stainless steel locks on the railings, new antifouling and a fresh coat of paint on the hull in 2026, and new carpet in the salon.
